Environment Details

  • UEM 6.2.0 server
  • Windows 10/11 Devices
  • Device configuration settings already applied
Description
  • Currently, we are mainly utilizing device-related ADMX policies. There is a need to extend the existing ADMX integration to support user-related policies.
    Modify the ADMX integration logic to support user-based LocURI paths for policy application.
  • Example LocURI for User Policy:./User/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/Edge~Policy~microsoft_edge
  • Also, we need to update the UI by adding a selector (e.g., a button or dropdown) to choose between user or device configuration when applying policies.
  • Some policies are applicable to both Device and User configurations [1], while others are restricted to either one [2][3]. So, we needs to handle it also.

Result

  • User-related registry keys should be correctly set once policies are applied and verified on the device.
  • Ensure proper error handling for missing LocURI in user policies to prevent policy application failure.
